Essential Functions

The Data Services Product team in NetApp plays a crucial role in defining and delivering valuable services related to data management. This team is strategically positioned to address the essential needs of modern enterprises, such as investments in backup, disaster recovery, security, data governance, artificial intelligence. We are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to join us and drive the sales and adoption of these value-added services. This individual will leverage industry knowledge to offer advice and perspective to prospective clients during the sales process. The candidate should have prior experience selling software solutions and is comfortable working in a multi-cultural corporate environment and leading complex sales processes across distributed teams.

You will:

  • Contribute, iterate, and evolve the sales strategy of NetApp’s Data Services portfolio, taking initiative to improve the tools, content, and processes.
  • Generate revenue by selling, managing, developing and growing across NetApp install base by working closely with the account teams
  • Identify opportunities, qualify them, and manage an opportunity pipeline, collaborating with different stakeholders at NetApp to drive opportunities to success.
  • Demonstrate selling value to key stakeholders and partners within accounts.
  • Partner with the Customer Success team to handle renewals at risk and participate in key QBR conversations with customers.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of enterprise customers and buyer personas.

Requirements & Responsibilities

  • At least 5 years of experience in a business development and sales role  with infrastructure and enterprise software products.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or similar. 
  • Knowledge and experience in one of the following domains – Data Backup, Disaster Recovery, Security, Ransomware Protection, Artificial artificial intelligence—is an advantage.
  • Experience in driving conversations with Fortune 500 Customers 
  • Be an optimistic, energetic person who loves engaging with people, whether they are customers, prospects, or members of the community. 
  • Client management and organization/business awareness 
  • Excellent presentation skills with strong written and oral communication
  • Ability to manage complex sales cycles
  • Ability to manage a pipeline of hundreds of opportunities
  • Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional environment, influence non-direct reporting
  • Ability to work with the US and other time zones.
